apex power commander question

I have a 06 apex gt and bought a excel exhaust muffler over summer for it,i went to install last week and found header pipe broke in half at muffler side ,so I ordered mbrp header pipes,was almost going to get excel header pipes but the dollar exchange sucks right now and found these at royal dis for a little cheaper and looked very compairable if not identical,anyway they measure 3mm larger in tube diameter and I also have 6 1 inch frogskins in the top of my air box but under hood where u cant see them,should I also be running a power commander with this set up?

generally with just an exhaust or just an intake you are fine but together is when you start to get into the range of needing one. when i did my exhaust and intake it did a pcv just to be safe.

thats what i was kinda leaning tward just seeing what other gyes have done. did u get yours from ulmar

i bought it from power commander because my pc3 died and they gave me a deal on a pcv then got a map from ulmer.

thanks , think ill get one from him complete, isee u can get ign module to?u think i should also get, and is there a a way to switch tunes for preformance or trail , wiuld leave on pre anyway, and did your fuel milage make any huge change, i looked on his website quick but havent had lot of time to check out, like to do research befor!!!

Im the same as you i like do a crap ton of reaserch to make sure its what i want. Yes you can add the ignition. i had it so i could run 91 and get all the HP i could. ulmer said to me that the IM gets you about 6 hp extra on 91. I had the map switch so i could switch from 87 or 91. i think it better to get the whole thing from him then you can get his map pre installed.

yes definitely i will get everything from him, i was just looking ign module is almost as much as commander, might just have to do commander for now!but i see switch is cheap , how does swich work and do u have to run 91 octane in preformance mode?

The switch works by there is two maps uploaded to the pcv and it just selects between map 1 or map2. No 91 in not needed on any map(I think) you can just get more hp overall with 91. The IM is not needed I just wanted the couple extra hp it gives you

All in all yes i could feel a slight difference if i could only fill up with 87 but i would not do it unless i was at where i was i already had the exhaust,intake, and pcv and wanted a little more.
Thanks! sleds are pretty much my life so i work hard all summer so i can ride in the winter. I loved my modded out apex, until the chain case grenaded in the middle of a lake with 3' of fresh powder last year..

ouch , herd problems with the chaincases, mine has 10 000 mi on it should i be looking for something? or replacing something , was in there few years ago when i switched gears , every thing has been ok?

i had 16000 and it was just because i listened to a professional to not change the bearings when i was in there and the top bearing let go taking everything out... but this is very slim on apexs if you have recently changed them and not put many miles i would not worry.

CHECH THE PRICES ON YAMAHA PIPES, THEY ARE STAINLESS NOW. BOUGHT MINE LAST YEAR. BELIEVE THEY WERE AROUND $130-140 EACH.
WAS ACTUALLY SURPRISED ON PRICE. ONLY 1 WAS BAD DUE TO DONUT BLEW OUT WHEN I WAS ON A 2 DAY 840 KM RAP TOUR, WORE THROUGH PIPE FLANGE WHEN CLAMP WAS RATTLING AROUND

SINCE I WAS ALREADY IN THERE DOING 1 PIPE FIGURED MIGHT AS WELL DO BOTH SINCE IT WAS SO MUCH WORK TO GET TO AS WELL AS NEW DONUTS AT THE SAME TIME.

I HAVE THE EXCELL PIPE AS WELL AND LIKE WAS SAID BEFORE, IF YOU JUST DID ONE OR THE OTHER (EXHAUST OR AIRBOX)PROGRAMMER WOULDNT BE REQUIRED.
I DID IGNITION CONTROLLER AND FUEL PROGRAMMMER. BOUGHT BOTH USED KIJIJI. PAID $350 FOR BOTH. THEY HAVE ULMER MAPS.

DEFINITLY ADDED MORE POWER BECAUSE AFTER INSTALL WAS BOUNCING OFF REV LIMITER. HAD TO ADD MOIRE WEIGHT TO THE TIPS OF CLUTCH WEIGHTS
