My buddy wants to put an Apex seat on an 04 Warrior. Wants to know what he needs to do to make it happen. Any advice would be appreciated! Thank you.

seat bolts right on just need to trim tank cover there is a few of us have done this mod. check the garage section many posts on this I have done it one of the best mods i have done to my sled. mbarclay has pics of what he did to his to put the apex seat on his sled. I belive it is you trim 3 1/2" off the cover in the center and out to nothing on the bottom corners.

like 04rx10 said I have done this mod as well and have pics in the link in my sig. You jjust measure up the center of the cover 3 1/4-3 1/2" then measure out to the points on each side make an even line and cut put some kind of trim on it and put the seat on very easy and really worth it

Install was really easy, except i could not get the side exhaust covers and end caps to work with my apex seat. So i scrapped them and bought the excell pipe and it came with new parts that worked nice

I'd have to say the apex seat was the best mod I did to my sled.I found that adding a 6-8inch adjustable riser and yz handlebars was the perfect compliment to this mod.Now I get in many more miles before I get beat up.Switching the wire harness from the old seat to the new one was a bit of a pain.(I wanted to run the rx-1 tailight)It would be much easier to run the apex tailight.Other issue I had was that I wanted the apex seat to sit under the tank cover like the original.I think most guys end up with the tank cover cut so it butts up to the seat.I had to remove some pad from the end of the seat to get the tank cover to ride over it.My exhaust covers worked fine(must have been lucky)Great mod!

heres a couple pics from when I cut my tank cover

Depending on what tail light you are using you need to change the wire connector at both ends of the seat to retain old light and only at the front to use the Apex light.

Apex Seat on 03 RX-1

Hi guys, I am having trouble with my 03 RX-1 and the installation of the Apex seat. When I tighten down the hangers on the back the clips under the tank pull out causing movement up by the tank. Any idea's, suggestions?

You rock! Thanks so much. I will be doing this mod for sure!

If the seat is to tight against the tank cover it will pop up.Recut tank cover slightly, prob just on the sides. This is a GREAT MOD! Thanks for the pics

Sorry to bring back a old post here lads but I just bought a apex seat for the RX1. I will be doing thing mod when it arrives. I just want to clear up some things before I go ahead with this. What did you use to cut the gas tank cover with, just a dremel or something? What were the measurments and how do you draw the line out. Just measure 3 1/2" and taper down to the edge. Simple as that or what? Just looking for a few more details thats all. Thanks.

I used a pair of snip's to cut mine then hit it with a sander. I also used some door trim to finish it up, and help protect the seat

I used a die grinder with a cut off wheel with the tank cover still mouted just becarefull not to cut the gas tank underneath it. it is very close but the cover will lift up a inch or so. Ijust used a marker to draw the line but i did put down somemasking tape first. the tape also helps make a cleaner cut but you will still need to sand a little. then put a piece of trim over the cut to help dress it up a little. hope this helps

Just finished mine last night at my shop pretty easy . Found a 06 apex seat on alssnowmobile.com site , located in vermont seat was in good shape got it for $ 250.00 plus shipping , just like the other guy's said cut your tank and bolt it on . The only thing i did with the wiring was i soldered them instead of trying to find the wiring pieces worked great.
