Hey guys, I am looking for some input on this decission....I got hooked up with a guy that has a brand new all black Apex GT seat. He wants $300 shipped....I will be putting it on my '04 Warrior....is this a good buy??? I know I could probably find one a little cheaper, but this one is brand spankin new, it's the softer, 'base' model seat (not a Mountain seat, I understand they're firmer and the wiring is different???) and best of all, it's all black , which I hope will look awesome on my Black/yellow Warrior!!!

What you guys think???

Thanks for you input!!!

buy it. YOU will LOVE IT!! Makes the sled way better. Its not as good as the apex , but close. It opens the angle of your leg, making it much more comfortable

your going to love that upgrade to your sled, although since you are a tall guy you may want to eventually go to a 3.5" riser instead. I have the same sled as you and you can ride it for a little while in Muni and see if the taller risers will be better for you. my wife has the 2" risers on hers and they are nice but I like the 3.5's better. see you on the 12th!

I was wondering the same thing. I would like to get a tank bag but I don't know if I should get the RX style or the apex style. Let me know how it works out for you.

We still use our rx series tank bags on our sleds but I have an Apex tank bag on its way and I will let you know which one fits better.

not sure how good these pics. are?

yeah, these pics are not the best but I thought they were worth a try.

Accckkkkk!!!! (Sounds like Bill the Cat) lol

4strokelover87 AND SH Together???
We are in trouble... ;):D lol

I have the tank bag set-up, don't use it anymore because I can get much further forward on the sled without it, rides much better in the rough stuff, and can slide all the way forward when carving through turns in the trail.
(That and it wore the paint off my cowling.)
(Do miss the map holder though.)

A friend had a really cool handlebar map holder that just velcro'ed on, but haven't been able to find one...
Ideas?

Added storage in my seat to compensate for loss of storage.
Think I may add saddle bags or a bag on the tunnel extension.

A friend has the Apex seat, would definitely recommend it!
It is like adding an additional shock to the sled, very comfy!
(Personally don't like the "grippy" material, but the cushiness is awesome!)

Lookin forward to Muni!!! :rocks:

Just sent him the money!!! It will ship out Monday morning!!! I hope I get enough time to get it installed before Muni!!! I will get my 2" Rox risers the first couple days this week too!!! Hopefully I can have a headache free installation of the seat and risers!!!

Thanks for the input!!!

Way cool! ;)!

You sure a 2" riser will be enough?
Put a 4" riser with Apex bars on mine and it wasn't enough to be able to stand comfortably.
(The Apex bars have 2" LESS rise built into them than the stock RX-1 bars, so a 4" riser with Apex bars was equivalent to a 2" riser on the stock RX-1 bars.)
A 6" Riser (With the Apex Bars) made all the difference in the world, can stand all day without my shoulders burning now. ;)!

One advantage of the 2" riser, is that you don't need a longer throttle cable.
Definitely need a longer throttle cable with a riser taller than 2" or TORS will kick in.

Hope this helps! :-o
