Rockmeister,
hahaha...you say trouble, I say sounds like a good time!!! I'm really looking forward to meeting all you guys and thanking you in person for all your help with all the mods I've been doing on my Warrior in the past few months!!!
My uncle has a map holder kinda like you described....only his snaps instead of velcros, pretty slick....and if I had to guess I'd say he got it from either Dennis Kirk or Shadetree, those are the two places we get most of our carbides, slides, etc. from....
I may just pull the map bag portion of the tank bag off so it's not in my way now that I will have the storage in the seat and go with the map on the handlebars also...I'll see what I think when I get a chance to ride some in Muni!!! I don't really want to take the tank bags off, as I use those bags quite a bit and they have been on there since the sled was new and they have the paint scuffed in numerous places on the tank shroud....

Yeah, I knew about the longer throttle cable with taller than 2" risers, but I decided to give these a try in Muni and if I decide to go taller, I'll get a different set when we get back and get rid of these...I'm going to take Sleddheadd's Warrior for a spin and see what I think...he has an Apex seat with 3.5" risers and stock bars, so that will tell me exactly what mine would feel like with the taller risers...I don't want to go too tall for the simple fact that I only go north about two or three times a year and I can be pretty picky as to when I go, so we only go up when the trails are flat and white, my point being that I am usually sitting down for the most part and don't stand a whole lot anyway....

sometimes that bag gets in the way when you have to stand up but i need somewhere to carry my camera's with me! I will be video taping alot again and look forward to making another TY TV video! I should go post that in the ride section!

and you really do not need a map in Muni! just turn on the gps and go riding! although from what i am hearing the off trail stuff is really deep! we may be staying on the trail!

Yeah....if you HAVE GPS!!! hahaha....those of us downstate aren't quite that sophisticated, sleddheadd!!! lol...actually I just don't go north enough to justify it, atleast not yet....
I look forward to a little playing in the deep stuff, but I'm not going to overdue it....I won't have my truck close to come pull the one ton out when I bury it....I've done it twice and it is NOOOOO fun at all!!!! Though I'm sure I'm not telling you anything new.....

Hahahhahha!
Go with the Frogg!
He LIKES getting stuck!
I generally don't need a map or GPS on the trails anywhere in Michigan anymore, but would be handy once in a while.
Have a friend that found a color Vista Garman GPS for about $125 WITH the trail maps, NEW in the box.
Mine was about $500 new.

If it's in a wide open area, it really isnt that bad, have friends keep circling and packing down the snow ahead of ya, while you are walking it down close to your sled.
Reset the skid on new snow, pull the skis, and you are usually out.
In a tight area like SH was in... well... plan to sweat... lol

Cool!!! I'm not very familiar with GPS, but I'm sure you are able to update them as the trails update then??

sleddheadd said:We still use our rx series tank bags on our sleds but I have an Apex tank bag on its way and I will let you know which one fits better.Vandelay Industries said:I was wondering the same thing. I would like to get a tank bag but I don't know if I should get the RX style or the apex style. Let me know how it works out for you.
Did you get your Apex tank bags yet, Mark??? I tried putting my RX-style bag back on after my seat install, and I just don't see how it's gonna fit at all... Did you have your tank bag on your Warrior before the Apex seat??? Did you modify the tank bag to fit with the new seat??? I'm just going to go without it for now I guess.....
