I had a slide break and take out the end cap part # 8ED-47422-00-00. I have some old slides I can throw on til my new duponts come in. Do you think I can ride this weekend without that end cap on one of the rails?
I would not ride without an end cap on. Stabbing the track with an unprotected rail is the fastest way over the sled to check how the front bumper is doing.

does anyone around you have old yamahas that they are parting out? rail cap from any proaction would get you through the weekend.
looked at the front bumper once while riding. hit ice fishing lump hidden under the snow at around 80 mph. my helmet almost touched it from the top while still moving. still do not know how i saved it.

Thank you for the info! Definitely don’t want to be riding like that. Luckily I found new ones at the rev it up dealer in Rangeley, so I’ll be back in business. I read somewhere that people use silicone on them too when they install, any thoughts on that?

Yep, fill them up with a wad of silicone and bolt them on.
Hafta drill through and source a long thin bolt, washers, and nyloc nut, but way better than the rivets that loosen and rattle.
I've done this on many of my machines when the rivet gets loose.
I used a stainless steel bolt and nylon lock nut to keep mine on instead of the rivet.

Awesome will do! Any recommendations on silicone, something better for the cold weather?

Any silicone. It’s just to help stop it from rattling.

I lost a cap off one side and stripped every track clip off that side. The guy behind me said it smelled like a tire fire!

that doesn't sound like fun, did you have to replace the track?
