Looking for feedback from anyone that has stretched out their Apex to either 136" or 144". Pros and cons? How they like long set up vs. old short set up.
Would like to buy an Nytro XTX but also considering extending my Apex shorty instead.
Thanks.

Works great. 121" track is definitely way overpowered on that machine.

Thinking of doing the same thing to mine. Can any one else add any addition l info on what kit they used track lenght lug height. I was looking at tracks usa 136 with the 1.352"cobra track. I was considering going back to cat with the xfire 8 snow pro but I dont know if i can stand buying oil every other weekend again. Spoiled by riding the 4 stroke the last 2 years.
Thanks

I cannot give you any feedback yet - I am in the process of stretching my 08 to a 144. I have a post in the garage section documenting the build - I never rode the sled as a 121 and hope I am moving in the right direction, LOL.

My buddy stretched his to 144 with a tracks usa kit. He also put a 1 3/4" track on it as well. It is a beast. He had to change drivers to help with racheting and so he could loosen his track in order to not smoke his slders. It really looks nasty. Yamaha needs a 144 Apex with a turned-up rail like the xtx. Once he got his suspension dialed in it works well. Even with the 1 3/4" track it is still really fast on the top and can climb like crazy.

I converted my 121" to a 136" this year on my '07 APEX RTX. Got the kit from Ulmer. Bought a 1.75" Camoplast track...thing hooks up amazing!! Lost a little top end...but nothing to complain about with all the low end tracksion. Its awesome!! Never would go back to a 121".

Will the XTX rear fit into an Apex fairly easily???
I was never happy with the Rage or the Attak, but most of that was probably due to suspension design and approach angle. Lazy Bastard has a 144" Expert X and I went with a 144" ZX-2 and love it. If you do a search with me as the author, you can find a couple of reviews I have written up on the ZX-2.
Do some research and PM me if you have any specific questions. Either way, I'm pretty sure you will be happier once you stretch it out.
I have 2 tracks, a 1.25" ripsaw and a 2" challenger. My ripsay si fully clipped and I run extrovert drivers. I have a seperate axle with 8 tooth drivers for when I want to run the challenger. IMO extroverts are a must to avoid ratcheting.
