Apex tether questions

I'd like to add a tether to my Apex as one of my summer projects but I'm not sure which wires to splice on to. Also... what tether do people use? Is it a closed or open system?

my kill switch top button busted off on mine which didn't bother me for the accidental shut downs in the trees I would remove the kill switch and use that wiring for tether and it is a normally closed circuit
