apex tether switch

I removed the kill switch on my handle bar because I kept on hitting it and shutting off the sled now I want to put a tether on it but I'am having a heck of a time finding a switch.called local yamaha dealer they sold me a (8H8-82550-01)switch but when the cord is plugged in the switch goes open breaking the circuit I need it to be the other way around when cord is plugged in switch goes closed completing the circuit if anyone knows of a yamaha PT# would appreciate it thanks

There are 2 types of tethers; open & closed. You got a 50% chance of getting it wrong.

i use the ac closed switch, 2 strokes need the open one

Thanks for reminding me about the tether.

I just looked at a apex engine that kept on running while on its side,it wrecked the bearings crank and case.

So if you fall off that engine needs to stop period.

found the proper switch bought it from the local Yamaha dealer
the switch is a Kimpex 280625
the springy cord is a Kimpex 280297
Looks exactly like OEM yamaha switch but is normallly closed instead of normally open
