apex true speeds

115 on gps great conditions sled is stock 1" predator track 120 studs you would think yamacharger would do at least low 120ies is it worth it ????

I think top end speed varies with location. I read about a lot of unusually fast "stock" Apex's but have never seen one in person. Ok, I've seen 1 or 2 but they were cheating LOL. Any stock RX1 or Apex in good tune in good air, right conditions (temperature and ice) will run 115-117mph. Seen lots of those. But as already posted, today could be fast, tomorrow may be slow. Yamacharger would help out lots on those slower days but don't expect a big mph gain on 20hp over 150hp. Takes a lot of hp after 110mph to see big gains.

I'm starting to think the yamacharger was a bad investment, but before I say anything else about the charger I will check the radar speed first, who knows maybe my dream meter is more acurate than I think. LOL.

Last year with Yamcharger and g-force clutching, 130mph (speedo) with a 1.5 lug track in about a 1/2 mile run.

HI Expert, the apexes around here are getting 110-113 mph,I seen turbo sleds getting in the 120-135 mph, maybe the temp here is alot different or even the air pressure, who knows. LOL.

That run was at sea leval, well on salt water ice witch is very grippy and flat. My buddy with a stock Apex ext to 136 with a 1.5 ripsaw ran 115mph (speedo) the same day.

My 03 RX1 133mph on speedo=116.7mph on the gun. My 06 GT 132mph on speedo=116mph on the gun. Both were on ice just above 0 degrees Celsius. Never put the 11 Apex on the gun but it hit 118mph on my GPS, speedo showing 113mph. derek.p, you should get a long level and check the lake your running on, may be your going up hill. LOL

I run the sed on a lake at WOT for a mile, and thats the best speed that I could get at temps around 0 deg C. Call me crazy but something wrong with my sled.

I,m about 40 min from north bay, so the sea level is the same I think.

What year is your sled and how many miles? Anything done to it? Looking back on your posts, your in the ball park with the sleds in your area. 125mph on the speedo for that distance (if you had no lube on glare ice) is pretty good.

We have radar runs this weekend on lake Nipissing.

Yamacharger works....I am pulling much more weight than I was non-YC.

derek, how much more weight are you running than previously?

The extra cost per horsepower for what little is achieved compared to stock seems silly. I guess if you have the money, then let it burn a hole in your pocket. Clutch kits, Y-charger, gears, ram, commanders, etc...

I've not added one thing to my '11 and managed 121mph speedo. When and if I ever get the desire to want a few more ticks on the gauge, I'll be sure to click on this thread to remind me to save my money.

went out radar running on our plowed track on sun. ran 127mph speedo-112.9mph radar in 1320'. ran 131mph speedo-116.7mph radar in 2000'. ran 136mph speedo-121.1mph radar in 2400'. the sled is completely stock except slp cold air intake and polar attac clutch. i'm changing the gears from 22 top tooth to 24 today and going to run it again, i'll keep you posted on speeds.
