So I am pricing out a custom rear mount turbo for an Apex MTX.
I am tire kicking which boost fuel controller I should use.
I am thinking between the Boondocker and Pure Logic but have also heard GEMS isn't too bad.
My goal is 7 psi to stay on pump gas...
What is everyone recommendations/experiences with tuning, setup, mapping, and overall grade of these controllers.
Also, If you have contact information on where you purchased these controllers that would be a big help to price them all out.
Thanks,

RB#3 is way better in my opinion, and I have had all the ones listed

Rapid bikes web site doesn't have the apex listed? do they have a controller with the boost option?

After reading some about the RB3 that looks pretty appealing. What kind of software does it use or do you have to get in order to adjust maps? or does that come with the controller?

The RB3 is above my pay grade, I could see messing with that all the time to get it dialed in because its so advanced. Being limited to the GEMS adjustments I find it stupid simple to use and it works 95% perfect, I haven't fiddled with it on my SC apex except for the idle function when I start it in the summer. Haven't touched the other modes once I set them. If I didn't have a AF gauge I would say it runs perfect and clean. Although the AF gauge is saying I'm rich most of the time, lean at 92 mph roughly, and idling rich.
I learned to just go by the sound and crispness of the sled and then what the numbers are they are and I watch for consistency to make sure the controller is working.
I can be a anal retentive engineer but so far I'm staying with the KISS method on fuel management. The sled idles, and runs like stock with a extra 100 hp its so clean, you can WOT, let off, part throttle, WOT, what ever it will not stumble. Good enough for me!

So is the gems box kind of like the boondocker where you enter settings for more/less fuel at certain rpm range? Ideally this is all I would need. Especially since cost is something I want to keep down hence the reason I am building everything from scratch.... Kinger, can you explain a little more information on the instal of the GEMS? is it just plug and play into the wire harness or does it need to be hard wired in. Does it come with any other sensors or is it just stricktly a fuel controller?

Its a basic controller similar to boondocker, pro logic, etc. Its plug and play and goes in the main wire harness with the large square plug over by the clutches. Just un hook and essentially 'splice' in the the controller with all the plug already on it. Takes all of 30 seconds to put in and ground to headlight bracket. No other sensors. It does have a boost port that you plumb from the intercooler so it sees boost.
Yes there are 3 rpm ranges that simulate a carb, idle, mid range, and WOT and you add fuel in various stages at each band. There is also a fuel accelerator and altitude adjustment mode but you dont ever really touch those. I ride at 0-2000 ft and its been great.

I've ran Pure Logic and RB3, neither compare to Boost-It for reliability and consistency IMO.

So I am going with the Boondocker box to start only because I am building a budget kit and no more than 8 psi. Does anyone have a good starting point when setting these controllers up? I know what to shoot for with a/f but would like to get somewhere close to start with the controller.
Thanks if anyone can help.
