I rode my 05 RX1 with a lot of transfer. It was a wheelie machine and I really enjoyed riding it that way. It would pull the skis 6 inches at 50 mph and that was sitting on the seat in the normal position. I did not push the sled hard in the turns so no worries there. It is just how I enjoyed riding the sled and got very use to it. I now have an Arctic Cat Z1 Turbo rear skid in my sled. I did not set this skid up to wheelie and I have really enjoyed it so far. The skid launches hard with minimal ski lift. I guess it was time for a change.

wow, in my experience a mono with every thing in good working order ( rear shock not blown or to soft of spring for rider weight)- even with full transfer and strap loose will not stand up just spin, but hey thats just what iv found, mabe i need a zillion studs!!not!

My sled did not transfer on ice or icy hard packed roads at all. If I raced a SRX or SX with the transfer rods it was over real fast, on hard pack snow it was a different story. It was studded and with the Ripsaw track it was awesome on hard pack trails. It was not good racing in deep snow. Too much lift even laying on the handle bars and no control. Also as others have mentioned wasted energy going up and not out.

Hey fellas
Long time reader first time poster I've got a little addition to this thread I've had both a nytro and now have an apex and the wheelie this is just not an apex thing the monoshock suspension is not designed for wheelies and without extensive work won't usually do them you either need a big turbo kit or a nytro suspension with the old garage door spring set up both amazing sleds !!!

We have two fully studded XTX Apex's in our group with the 144" skids and I hooked harder than them with my 121 mono and leave them out of the hole. The one added the Star suspension upgrade this year and they are suppose to improve transfer. We will see.

2011 XTX no studs and stock rear suspension before I put in the star kit. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ueRXzN-9sTw
3:50 and 6:56 are examples of transfer. After the Star kit it will lift and hold the front a bit longer and easier, like I needed it right!

I am a bit larger then the average person so in the hookup area I could have an advantage. The star kit does not really lift better off the line but it lifts easier at higher speeds if that makes sense. Pulling up the limiter is a must if you want to keep the ski's closer to Tera firma. The ride is much better and it still takes the big hits well. Sit in is improved but I find it still sags a bit, nothing like it did before the kit. You sat on it and rode for a while then when you got off it hardly came up. Grabbing the back end you would lift it up at least 6 inches, ride surprisingly did not seem to be greatly effected by this. To answer your question I like the star kit and have no regrets.
