BIGGIE ASKED ME ABOUT MY APEX GT FRONT WIDE KIT. I BOUGHT IT FROM A GUY IN CANADA, CANT REMEMBER THE NAME. IT WAS EXPENSIVE, LIKE $900.00 BUT IT MADE A BIG DIFFERENCE WITH THE REVALVED FRONT SHOCKS. THE ARMS COME POWDERCOATED BLACK. THE SKI STANCE IS CLOSE TO 50 INCHES NOW.

I will say this: that Apex GT out of the box was one of more unstable sleds that I ever rode. It darted so bad on that first trip to Quebec that it was impossible to keep on the trail. I am not kidding. Other guys in my group thought it was me until they rode it. Then thanks to this forum I learned little by little how to fix it. First my FAT ARSE required the BIG BOY spring. Then the lowering of the front end to " A Arms parallel to the ground" plus the one notch up on the limiter made a big difference. The major " anti-darting" fix was the shimming of the skis. I went so far as to have a machine shop fabricate an aluminum wedge and had to mill out the inside of the ski to make it fit. Major improvement. Now with the wide front end it really rails like it should. The biggest test of this is when I run into a guy with a stock Apex and let him ride mine while I ride the stock one.. Major difference. Thanks to this forum and the Yamaha Brain Trust!

I bought mine used and it came with pilot 5.7 skis. I've never experienced the darting. Pilots must have soft plastic though cause they slice easy. Had to get new ones last year cause the new carbides wouldn't mount up, too much plastic missing! LOL

I got mine from online, as far as I know no one makes them anymore. That is too bad, because I love mine.

There is a Yamaha dealer in Pickering Ontario Canada (around Toronto) who is apparently making these kits up for $750 painted black or to your liking for a few extra bucks.
See: motorsportspickering.com for contact info. They don't advertise them on their site however, so you would need to call for information. They do advertise them on kijiji.ca up here, you can do a search for the ad if you like.

And.... I'm not advertising for them, never dealt there, just trying to help guys out that are looking for a source that makes them.
Cheers.

I was gonna post up this info also, but again, afraid to break the rules. Good on ya though, the info has to get out somehow Maybe the next guy to contact these fellas should also mention where they found out about this, and to perhaps help their own business out by advertising here...Just to be fair.
