Assuming that a Zipgun is an air chisel, yeh, those work well for sliding them out through a track window while the thing is on its side.
Yeah, an air chisel. I lift the back of the sled, and loosen the track, even faster to come out.

ROCKERDAN,
I also would like to see where you put your extra wheels. You may recall that you had suggested this to me in my previous post pertaining to my burning hyfax on ice.
I am a newbie, but it seems to me that somehow we hijacked this post that started out as a "will not start" post.
Is there a way to separate this thread on this topic so that interested persons will know from the title what we are now discussing?
Thanks again guys, I love this site and really appreciate all the help I get here.

new slides seem to wear to a certain point (about half way) very quickly. then hardly wear at all. At least thats been my experiance. But I know a lot of guys that change them at about the half way mark.Whitch is when you get the most life out of them.

Hey guys....
I have done the "REVERSE" Method of removing sliders....and it does work well, rips those babies off fast and easy....
I still feel its best to remove skid, mainly cause I like to check all bearings thouroughly on all wheels, and inspect eveything.....just me being anal as usual.lol.
the first season i saw the spot where they WEAR out in mid section, and added the FIX MID WHEEL kit...works awesome.....the second season mine WORE THRU at the BEND....but i do ride alot of glare ice in spring.....so I put the FIX FRONT WHEEL KIT at the bend....these two kits from FIX come with explicit directions of where to install them exactly...FIX KNOWS where they wear out exactly!
also run the track quite LOOSE,it helps alot....also i will ONLY USE the YAMAHA Graphite Sliders....part number SMA-8CM92-70-HP......IMO these are faster, last longer then the stock WIDE sliders.
I also run 4 wheels on rear axle...
call fix powersports, order their MID and FRONT wheel kits, you wont need anything else...they are a sponser here.
here is pics of skid now with front and mid wheel kits...

Just a little tip I figured out while fouled on the trailer!!...
I just took the ignition switch panel out (via usual methods), and removed the coolant reservoir, and the 2 center plugs. Heat them with a lighter or something. I happened to have a small butane torch handy, and while they are warm, stick them in as fast as you can. It'll still take 5 minutes, but doing this to at least the 2 center plugs, it will fire up, and getting the engine up to temp (and just getting rpm's up) and riding it will get the rest of the plugs to fire. I had to do this while away from the garage, and had minimal tols to work with. After I did this, it ran just like it never happened. I rode it about 75 miles like this, and it ran great. I changed the plugs at the first opportunity I could, but this will at least get you home in a pinch, should you upset your sled while out on the trails.

I remember when I wired in the harness for the electric heat shield, I had the ignition unplugged, and I put everything back together, I turned on the key and got nothing! Back tracking, I found what I forgot to plug in. Then it fired right up!

Make sure you have the little plug connected to the side of the air box. That's a sneaky little one that is very easy to overlook. That is for the air sensor, and if not connected, it sets off the light. That should do the trick.
