Powder Pounder
Pro
I am looking at trading my D8 for an 07 apex, has the MPI stage one super charger on it, running 10-12 pounds. All super charger updates were done two weeks ago. Has head shim and after market head studs, GEMS fuel controller, boost gauge, under tunnel exhaust, Mountain Mod seat, not sure what else. Was Built by Darren at E&S in Fort Sask. I'm wondering if there are ANY problems with these after the updates? Anything to keep me from buying it? I would be running it at mainly 1000-3000'. (Pump gas with head shim?) And a few trips to the mountains a year. I know the GEMS can be a head ache, but how bad is it really? There was one guy around here with one, he blew an intake gasket I believe it was, he then sold it. I want a sled I can set up once, and after that get on and ride it. Are these reliable sleds with the super charger on it? I was looking to sell my D8 for a nytro, then add a MCX 180 kit. But got this offered to me for a killer trade deal. So it caught my interest. I have heard Darren builds solid sleds, and not to be scared of it if it's one he put together. I asked on Snowest, and got almost all positive responses, but since this is an all Yamaha site I thought I would check with you guys. Looking for the good, the bad and the ugly on these things.
Thanks.
Thanks.
