After running thru all the cam block settings & compression clickers I'm finding cam block on hard & clicker on hard settings reduces the kick but still too much for me. I would like to slow down rear shock rebound but no clicker only compression. What is the best solution for XTX skid kick? What can be done with a shock revalve that will help? What & who do I tell what I want for revalve? Is that my best solution to reduce kick?

take all the transfer out....try it...you will need less cam block as you put it..

Put 6000 miles on one. Never fixed it, tried everything but the Star kit.

You could try the 4 position blocks, part # sma-8jp39-bl. The stiffened mine up enough that I need to tune the shock down some now but it is a bit hard to tune when my brother has borrowed my sled for the last 2 weekends.

You mean put transfer on skis if so I did that already past line 2 & have good bite. The star scares me looked at settings & seems to me front end would push & my sled does well right now just wish I could tune kick out. It is not horrid just wish I could smooth out a smidge & wondering what to do? Dampers, rear shock revalve don't know? My dealer didn't think dampers would help with kick & I really don't have any problems holding a line at hi speed in junk I just dislike the slight kick in the rough on unplowed Frs.

had my rear shocks revalved for a smoother ride in the smaller bumps as the xtx skid is way too stiff and didn't notice much of a difference. thinking about trying nytro xtx springs for next year or may just bite the bullet and try that star set up. was looking up the cost of the two nytro springs and couldn't believe how much they are! so it would be about a wash either way going with the lighter nitro springs or the star kit.

Really don't think lighter springs would help me just cause more kick on shock rebound & I do like a firm ride. The skid does kick & Yamaha missed the boat not having a rebound clicker. I pulled up the limter strap 1 notch & introduced ski lift & hard steering so put that back on 1st hole. I'm out of adjustments unless I missed something? Now ready to do something outside of stock sled.

Geez150, I ended up with the nitro xtx springs in mine as stock was too stiff. They where a touch light, so I added the above 4 position block and now it is almost perfect. Still playing with the clicker but overall very pleased with the results. Still need a re valve on front skid shock but much improved.

I have a whole thread on too stiff apex xtx.

yeah I think I may give them a shot vs. the star kit, I don't like reinventing the wheel unless it is a complete must.

I would go with Star too but looked at install directions & with spacers on transfer rods you are pretty much screwed with transfer adjustment just left with whatever you can do with shock adjsutments. Scared me away afraid I won't be able to get bite on skis or keep front end planted on ground & did not like ski lift with stock set up just pulling in limter to 2nd
hole. Sure wish there was a kick solution only thing I object to is the kick. I'll talk to Yam rep at Sneak Peek see if they have solution?
