Looking to add a couple inches to the stock rise on my '11. I know lake effect is popular.

Does anyone know what the max rise is before changing cables? I've heard 2". Also, how much more rise is on the
old Apex Mountain riser compared to the '11 and up models. I would prefer the OEM part and look.

Thanks

If you want to replace the whole thing, Lake Effect seems to be the way to go.

If you want to just add 2.5" and reach the limit of your cables, the PowerMadd Universal Pivot Adapter will do it. It allows you to keep the stock riser and cover the pivot adapter with the factory pad. (photo 5) All you have to do is pop the end of the throttle cable out of the fun flipper and re-route it under the bar. 5-min job on the re-route. (photo 3)

I have one on my Apex and one on my Phazer. My '07 Apex GT had the longer stock riser over the '06.

Good luck

I went with Lake Effect 6" risers(Dog Bones) that I think he refers to them along with his pivot adapter, on my '13 Apex. Made a world of difference for comfort. I did re-route the throttle cable under the handlebar, but other than that no issues with over 3000 miles on her. I'm 6'1". Also when I did it I bought the Skinz wind guards, I believe their race versions, the smaller size which do not look overly burdensome on the sled. I never rode it w/o them to see if they are actually needed though, but I figured better same than sorry.

Thanks for the pics. I'm 6'0" and would definitely like to keep the stock pad, or I may put the sport handlebar bag on. Right now my arms are totally straight while standing. Maybe 2" is not enough. The mountain Apex Riser looks a lot higher.
Anyone know how much higher it is?

lake effect 2.5 riser has been a great addition to my sled. Chris makes a great product it maxes out the cables stock and the pad fits right over it low cost and max rise wit piviot ability as well.

I was told the Mountain riser was 2" higher. So when I could only find a couple mountain risers in the $80 range, the $45 Powermadd was an easy choice.

At 6'2", this combination is great for me. My apex went from a sit-down only sled to a fun sled in deep snow and ditches. I love driving it standing up now.

It seemed odd riding sitting down with my hands up higher as well, but honestly, the leverage at the shoulders is much better for me anyway.

Good luck!
