APEX XTX - Yamaha's Best Sled Ever?

Running my 11 with 17000mi with a 1.5 lug composit track and DuPonts. Has great traction now and still not hurting the slides. Gf rides it now mostly but I did get to rip on it in the powder and I am liking that track. Have broken a lot of trail with that sled with no issues once I put the 09 apex mtx skis on it.

got a 16 now and still trying to get it to ride like my 11 does.
Cameron, I really love how your 16 rides after riding both, I will hope to upgrade to a 16-18 XTX someday if I can find one. NOBODY wants to sell them. Of course once I get out and try this Star upgrade I maybe all set.

lol just think how much better it would have rode if i would have adjusted the air pressure for you weight.

Yeah, my 155# was happy with the settings you had. I am hoping with my new Star kit, Nytro springs, Hygear bushings and my shock and torsion cams on soft I will be much more happier with mine now.

It is in today’s world!

Correct in todays world......every OEM of sleds / cars you name it uses sub contractors to supply the ‘engines, electrical, plastics, tracks.....the idea that our PRIOR Yamahas were pure is just not true......HMMM last time I looked there is a Camoplast track, Hayes Brake, Mitsubishi Electronics and I love it......BUT it is not PURE Yamaha.

I have BOTH and prefer to a ride my Viper, for comfort and handling, DO NOT GET ME WRONG I still ride and like my Apex(XTX with STAR), Vector and even Venture GT - family brood of sleds collected and ridden by the whole family, to little I must admit but hey cant bring myself to sell them.

I don’t get the “JOY” in running down others choice of sleds. Heck I ride with people on Ski doos, Polaris and Cat.....we have a great time. My 2 cents.

Wasnt running NOBODY down, just my $.02 worth.. Still live my Yamahas quality over the YamaCat.
Im sure someday I will have to change, but not yet!!!

A Pure Yamaha line up will rise again, Yamaha has not given up making sleds in Japan and for good reason, Japan is very very patient business players, every move they make is for a reason, short term and long term, the Apex will be back in their line up and it will NOT have Cat DNA. :)
