Is it not possible to change the approach angle without going to a larger track? I know lots of you are going to a 151, 153, etc. But is there no way to do it without going thru the modifications of a track swap? it would be nice to be able to reduce the angle and possibly pick up the slack in the back with maybe some bigger wheels?? well for me at least since i would have to do the mods on the ol ladys sled as well! which makes of course double the cost! any thoughts would be great

Not really -- it works so well you will never look back.

151 track trim it down -- set it back -- done -- she will love you for it and you will love to not have here get stuck nearly as much --- never mind how much better it will be for your sled.

Cheers....

I have to agree with Powder Muncher. The only way to "soften" the approach angle without going to a longer track is to raise up the front of the rear susupension. You have to check that the lugs of the track don't hit the heat exchanger and the top of the tunnel and it will definately create more ski pressure with is not good. To only move it back an inch or so, whatever your rear adjusters can handle, will probably not be enough to make a difference.
The one thing you might try is to tighten up the front limiter strap as far as it will go. This will keep the front of the track from being forced down under acceleration. This might keep it from trenching as bad. Good-luck!

In theory, you could get some 136" rails, and then set back the skid 4", to fit a 144".

However, I think it makes more sense to set back your current rails, and buy a 153" track - look for a maverick takeoff from a 153" Nytro. It'll only cost you a little more than buying a new set of rails, and will be a far superior setup.

The 153" track has deeper paddles as well, so this is a gain in the powder.

So what is a realistic conversion cost, both sleds are already 144, so if i found tracks that are 2.52 pitch so i dont have to change drivers cut them down, what else do i need to buy? or if i do go with the maverick track from a nitro what do drivers cost? thanks
Tried to go sledding today, where we go has lost at least 3 feet in the last 3 weeks, and it was raining! very dissapointing

Most guys will throw in the old Nytro driver's if you buy there take of track.

You will only need the internal driver with 80 HP it will not skip.

Also there are a tone of 151 tracks that are 2.52 so you will not need drivers

I have a real decent 151 Of a RX1 cut down $175 + shipping it is even

ported.
