I'd like to startup the whole Front Skid Idler Wheel discussion again...
Remember, these are the junk plastic wheels mounted inboard of the slide rails on the Proactive suspension... They go bad in about 500 miles... The get chewed up by ice, studs, etc... The warp and bend from impact...
A few people were able to come up with a solution using rubber overmolded idlers like those on the old SRX's, but you had to machine down some collars or something like that.
I have to fix mine up before the season. I was wondering if Yamaha updated these wheels on the 06's? If so, I would like to buy the new parts. If not, it's off to the lathe I go...
Any new info?

Try not putting studs under the wheels, then they won't get chewed up.

Here's a link with some info. The wheels on the 05 mono-shock are the same as the ones on the Vector skid.

It wasn't a question of the studs chewing up the wheels, that damage was fairly minor (at least on my sled).
The real problem was the wheels would warp badly and then once that happened the bearings would crap out shortly after.
I am also looking for a solution for 06.

I must have missed this post before or something. I changed my hyfax at 1100 miles and I spun all of my idlers when I had the skid out and didn't noticed any warping in my wheels. Is this happening to all front idlers on 05 vectors??

Many people are experiencing the front, INNER idlers warping. These are the plastic, non-rubberized idlers that have the holes in them and mounted inside the slide rails.
My belief is that they take HUGE impacts from aggressive riding/jumping and therefore, warp. I think an aluminum-bodied wheel with overmolded rubber would be best for this application... kind of like the idlers on the old 97-98 SX's...

I haven't heard of any nytro or ventures being delivered yet. The other RS sleds, including both vector and rage, have the MONO suspension this year.
