Attak 136 ripsaw delamanation

Well we were at the smooth lake bed today as we were the last couple of days,and it is smooth,but covered w/3" of hard packed snow in morning and much softer miday snow,so speeds were down some and we were running around 2000-2500 ft,now we were letting them cool off and my boy said,dad you have pieces of track missing,i was in shock,as we looked we saw one large piece of outside lug torn completely off way back into toward the middle of the track right down to the rod with canvas showing,now i am studded w/136 mixed both inside and out,every other one studded outside,and not one bent,torn out or damaged stud in the lot,and no lugs looked roughed up at all,i just added these new studs last week and have only been on the lake,and there is no rocks,stumps or sharp ice sticking up anywhere,i know for a fact i have hit nothing with it,and only now have just 505 miles,i just got it out of the shop with 450 miles last week end,now has anyone else seen this,it has 4 spots mostly on the r.h side sitting on sled,it looks like the rubber just seperated,and i never got the track clips even warm,as we have snow covering the ice,heck i have not found any bare ice yet this year..

mnmsnowbeast, bad news. I've never seen one do that,although have heard about it. Have you been doing lots of high speed running? The heat build up at 80 mph plus is amazing. Prolonged heat = delamination? Sorry for your bad luck. studdog

That still should not make the track come apart. Talk to your dealer and see what he can do for you.

That happened to the track on my warrior. Studded up the middle and it came apart on the outside after 3000+ miles.

Thanks dog,a little high speed running,but no more than usual,the lake was fully covered w/3 of hard snow,not much different than running down any snow covered trail at 90-100 you know big wide open rr beds,like we have here in maine,i had the 03 rx1 w/button track and ran that much harder for way more extended times,i would say they had a bad batch of ripswas or these 1.25 ripsaws are capable of doing this,i also think that with the addition of these larger lug tracks and the torque and hp of these new high bred sleds that is bad news,at anyrate i am getting the new hacksaw 1" 136 from tracks usa and hopefully dealer can get something for me.

I would say the track must be defective. Is Yamah going to warrenty it?

Yamaha will not warranty a track with studs in it. If it was completely stock that may warranty the track.

This is not true. They have to prove that the studs caused the track problem and in this case there is no way it's a stud related problem. I know guys who have had track problems with studs in them and they were covered under warranty because the track failure wasn't stud related.

I read somewhere that Maine has an excellent warranty law on the books.

Something along the lines that [a product must perform for what it is designed for.]

Since Yamaha puts tunnel protectors on for studs then I would assume they designed the sled for studs. Therefore, if the studs were installed correctly, and you did not "abuse" the sled , then in all likelyhood you can get it warrantied.

Check it out and let us know.

I had the same thing happen last year on the 05 Warrior. Dealer thought that Yamaha would not cover due to studs. After checking with Yamaha and Camoplast, neither would cover because of the studs (can't say that I blame them). If you have on of the ripsaws that Camoplast is selling with the stud holes MOLDED into the track you may be in luck. I am not refering to the Iceripper but the Ripsaw with factory molded stud holes. No broken cords ect.

For someone to say" Thats not true" is narrow minded at best. Maybe not the same rules or conditions were effected.

Soo, if a Automobile maker sells a car with "Z" rated tires is there a warranty that the car will go that fast? Not sure that the position listed above is vailid.

Great news guys,dealer looked at it today and stated wow,i have never seen one look like that,and he called yamaha right away,told them it had only 522 miles the condition and they told him he had $750.00 allowance he could use as needed before warranty had to be issued,but that it would be covered at any rate,and that i wanted the 9010h hacksaw track installed,and they gave him permission to install it,so i am one happy camper... Thank you yamaha for standing behind your product,as it has so far been my best sled to date..

Ive never had any of my yamaha tracks come apart... 4000 miles on my brothers warrior with studs and just a few torn lugs and one pulled threw stud and still together..
