Does anyone else hit their rev limiter? When I race or sometimes hit er' off the start, my 06 Attak revs to 11 - 11.5 rps and hits the rev limiter. I was wondering if this was normal or if I should add weight to the clutching.
I do have a fuel accelerator, clutch kit, and hauck straits if that might make a difference.

Change your belt and clean your clutch faces.

you need to dial in the clutch. 10,500 to 10,800 rpms max. anything after that the sleds is just making noise.

I don't care who you are, that's funny right there. The Attaks are not hard on belts but they are made from a very hard compound that will slip more than most. The slipping causes glazing on both the clutch faces as well as the belt contact area. This allows more slip.
You should clean everything up on both clutch sheeves (use emery cloth) and install a new belt (after washing it in soapy water). If this doesn't help talk to whoever sold you the clutch kit and find out if they know what they are doing???

You say to wash the belt in soapy water?

yes
there is a release compound on the belts for manufacturing ( demolding)
use a stiff brush or I have used a wire brush and scrub the contact edges with soapy water

Yes the Attak is very hard on belts. It doesn't matter what the mileage, a belt won't last a day when you ride off trail in the deep heavy snow. It's not if you blow a belt, it's when. I've blown belts after 100 miles and twice after 400 miles. Sure, on the trail they may last forever, but put a load on em for a day and you better carry more than one spare.

We have 6 attaks riding in the U.P. averaging about 2000 miles a year on our sleds with about half of those miles boone docking and we have never blown a belt.

I had the Hauch clutch kit, fuel accelerator and pipe. Had the same problem. Take it all off go back to stock. Whole lot better stock or go to Ulmer kits.

Yup, couldnt agree more, except that if I stay in the powder, I can blow belts every half hour!
A solution this problem would be great!
