Ok looks like the test ride in NH might be off.. I am tring to make up my mind on a GT or a Attak.. My bro has a Warrior and handles like a dump truck at anything under 30mph. He has C&A skis on it and it is just real hard to turn. I was going to get the londer track to bridge the bumps and for the powder riding I do from time to time. Does the Attak handle better than the warrior? If so can you turn the thing under 30mph... Other than that I loved the warrior..

I'm hoping that our Canadian neighbors will put together a good 06' model ride report because I'm in the same boat as you...not knowing which sled to go with. For me it's either apex ER or attak.

Exactly the 2 models I'm deciding on also. I have an F7 EXT now, so I thought I would want the Attak, but the ER is 25 lbs. lighter and I think with the mono shock susp. the ER will still ride nice. The ER also has a 1.25" track, so I think I'm going with the ER.

Does this mean, that there wont be any yamahas to ride like ski-doo and poo has,now i am not talking about an hour long special ride in with yamaha reps and all that, but i want to sit on the new 06 modela and maybe ride them on there 2 mile course that we generally have to ride,so you say this is out too!!!
Ditto on those two for me too - gotta go blue and the tamer graphics.
I'm still toying a little with the RTX. Ran with an '05 F5 this weekend with 500 miles. His fox floats haven't held air right since day one. He has a few buddies who have no complaints with the foxes, but it seems a little like a crap shoot.
The Attak is spec'd for the 1.25" track too, and I'm hoping since it's classed as a "rough trail", it will also carry a heavier rear spring than the Apex ER.

UP in the air but Mr.Sled has said that they might not be doing any rides... Something about sled issues..... I am waiting on the whole story... I am really leaning toward the Attak in Blue right now to replace my M10 121 Viper...

I went with the Warrior only for the ride. With all of the complimentary things I have heard about the mono shock rear skid I decided to give it a whirl. I want to go back to the mobility of the 121 incher. With the Ohlin in the rear and those clickers up front I'm betting the GT will ride awesome. Or should I say I hope so :ORC
I still havn't rode a sled that rides as well as my buddies 02 MXZ and that thing sports a 121 incher, so they can ride good.

But a 136 with a mono.....that could be really plush. Especially for those of us who are.....errrrr......gravitationally challenged.

I am leaning towards the attack.... switching from a 121 skid to a 136 skid is like night and day for me...i like the feel of the longer skid and dont think i could switch back...then again if i was able to ride the apex i might think differently, but as for now i am sticking with the attack

Ordered an attak, just cause I loved the warrior. your right the longer track is nice, though a little difficult to get used to especially the push in the corners ( now fixed with some minor suspension adjustments), Already looking forward to the 05/06 season and were not even done with the 05 season.

Congrats on the Attak.
I added a set of simmons skis to my warrior and they basically eliminated the push and most of the ski lift.
No one in Mr. Sleds report mentioned Attak pushing. I don't recall anyone from the Minn demo ride mentioning Attak push. We'll have to wait to hear from the Canadian boys.
I'd think that the 06' attak should have even less push then warrior but like you said should be able to dail it out with suspension adj and/or new skis.

I never had any push with my Warrior, I must have been lucky with my initial suspension setup. What I didn't like was the added weight. I'm a fairly big guy at 6'3" 225 and the Warrior would sometimes take over in certain conditions. I want to be in full control of the sled. Now I do believe the new riding position will help allowing you to use more leverage but I want less weight too. Like I said earlier, the best riding sled I have ever ridden was my buddies 02 mxz. It is simply amazing. That sled proves to me that a 121 inch skid can ride great. And yes I did compare it to my Warrior, no comparison, mxz hands down rode better :ORC
Mighty/150 and other Warriorites,
The specs show a 21 lbs (4%) weight difference between the Attak and GT. What riding circumstances do you see as that weight difference being the most material to.
Also, I've heard some complain about what I think can be described as increased "tail kick" the longer suspension produces over some bumps and trail conditions. What are your experiences/thoughts there?
Thanks

My '04 Warrior pushed badly from day 1. A bit of work on the suspension adjustments and PowderPro skis with decent (8" Bergstrom) carbides solved the problem. IMHO, the stock 4" carbides are a joke for the Ripsaw 136" track.
I've got Ohlins on the the front, and the FRA is set at max. 13mm swaybar, dropped the Ohlins preload 6 or 7 rings from standard and clicked down 1 from standard for damping.
Prior to the 13mm bar, I had reduced preload by 2 rings, and had clicked the damper up (harder) by 2 clicks.
Transfer rods were at 2.5 (now at 4), all else is basically stock except for the limiter strap was sucked in a little by the dealer at the first service.
The only time you can really pick up on the longer track is in really tight conditions, sub 15mph, or in bumpy / trashy trail conditions, where the sled is a lot more stable than a 121".
I've had a few friends ride it recently: the first has an SRX, and finds the Warrior to be absolutely stable at 110mph + in the same conditions where his SRX was limited to 80 mph due to the rough trail. He didn't find the long track an issue at all.
He's converting to a Warrior or Attak as soon as he gets the cash, had enough of being beaten to death by his SRX.
The second has a Rev 600 SDI, and thought my Warrior was a great straight-line bump sled, very stable and absorbent in ride. He's a long-time Doo fan, and is now seriously thinking of swapping his first-year Rev for an Attak (he will keep his Renegade for local NH trails, though).
The third guy rides a Poo 800 classic, don't know what he thought about the handling, but he couldn't shut up about the power and smoothness.
I also thought the Warrior was a bit of a handfull in the beginning, but with 2000 miles (lots of them very bumpy and demanding) this season, am beginning to really like this sled.
It needs to be set up right, the skis need changing, and the Ohlins shocks made a big difference to front end control and compliance. Other than that, you need to use some body English for really fast riding and have faith that the fat pig will somehow get you where you need to be on traill.
I'm constantly amazed that such a heavy pig of a sled can fly so straight and handle bumps so well, and even keeps up with some supposedly much quicker trail sleds quite easily (Revs, F7, various Poo 800s, RX1 with M10 and more). It takes a bit more work in the rough and tight, but given a better saddle, I can't think of a current sled I'd rather have on long Quebec days.
I was seriously thinking about the ER/ GT, but 200+ mile days on poor trail seem to be my lot recently, so will probably stick with the 136. Either the Warrior with upgraded saddle and maybe rear suspension, or an Attak at a very good price.
