Attak vs. RTX

Hey, I'm not putting down anybody's sled either. The traction and floating benefits of the long track are obvious, I'm just saying that given the same shocks and springs I just don't believe that one will be any better than the other for ride quality.

Ride them side by side and you wont make the same statement. I own them both with same shocks front and rear. Changed attaks to clickers and there is a difference. All 06s. ;)!

Longer is better.............for soft straight ride........121 is most likely better in twisties. Although..........I just got done riding my Attack today on roughed up groomed trail............55 to 60 mph steady...comfy ride and in contol........ They are all GREAT! Go buy ANY of the Apex/Attack models!!!

Its just like saying a bigger boat doesn't ride better than a small boat in choppy water ..we all know what ones going to ride better...and true the rtx may handle alittle better in the twisties ...maybe?? Alot of that depends on the rider and the way the sled is set up. The 136 is quicker out of the twisty because of hook up and also brakes better with more track to slow you down before the twisty also to compensate...but again ALOT of whos gonna be faster is in the rider.

If all of this were true, why wouldn't ALL sleds just use 136" as the standard length? Think about it.

Because just like with cars ,trucks people like a choice and options.

You have to offer customers a choice in the market place ...but more and more are going to 136 -144" tracks and more tracks are coming with deeper lugs unlike 15 years ago when most track had a 1/2" lug 112-113" lengths. Why do so many guys want to put rail extensions on there 121" tracks? I believe that if you are going to snowcross and there is one twisty turn after another and one HUGE big air 4-5ft jump after another the 121 IS more managable because of its LIGHTER wiegh and LESS bulk....BUT most of us trail ride in a X- cross country type fashion where there is not a turn every 125' or a huge BIG air wooptey...The 136 is IMO a better sled for trail rider application and is better in the 1-3 ft stutter bumps that go for miles and miles on end and also wont get stuck as easily when in need of getting off the trail and rides better in lose granular snow...bottom line. I'm not a snowcross racer but more of a cross country rider so the 136" is for me!

Not much difference. GT may be a little better in twisties but attak with right set up is not far behind. I have both so its easy to compare. If the attak is like driving a bus, I want a fleet of busses.

I went with RTX after a horrible 3 seasons on a RX1 , couldnt stand the ploughing and tippiness....HUGE difference, mind you still a bit tippy but no more plowing...amazing suspension...actually lands softly when jumping.....dont think the ATTACK can handle the twisties like a RTX...just my opinion...
I've had not one guy on a 121 able to keep up with me in twsties..it handles VERY well! :die But that doesn't mean you cant....lol :flag:

Ok good comparison between the long vrs short, just think about the f-7 for a minute, even though the track width is more norrow, what is its length compared to there zrs ok now which one takes to the rough and tough better f-7 no dought the zrs handle on average better through the tight and twisty it has 15" wide track and it is shorter, but most of the handling prowishness is from the lower center of gravity on the zr alot like the srx vrs rx1/apex /attak or better yet 97 sx700 dont ride good but sure does handle, and i agree that a 136 might not be quite a agile thru the twisty stuff all stock set up,but set up and drivers ability will seperate the two,and dident i tell you guys early on,that the attak runs even or close to the shortys,i guess alot of you are finding out now they really do,imagine that!!!! :die
