av gas
i under stand that it is a differnt make up that std gas and that it is harder on your o2 sencor,s . and we all ran 115/130 cat,s , merc,s etc all with fatory blessing . and i ran the left overs in our truck,s, moter cycle,s etc . the only moter,s that gave any problem were the low comp brig,s and stration lawn mower,s they did not last to long on this stuff. and on air craft moter,s when doing a moto stat test some time,s you will have to pull the valve cover,s and tap the valve,s to knock the carbon off to get them to seat as well. this is not uncomen. if only you guy,s could get that ww 11 gas that they ran in the plane,s you could realy run some boost it was 130/145 and it,s not produced any more . for me i just add about a gallon to reg gas and that.s enuf for what i have (high comp via a .010 head gasket) and no deto problem,s with only minamul lead. even 115 LL has way more lead than pump gas ever had.

Re: av gas
100LL actually has about 1/3rd the lead that most leaded racing fuels have, just FYI.

All I'm saying about avgas is there are better products out there that are designed for the application..Read the post..No-one said it wouldn't work..
hlmrx1 said:I know a few people for sure with turbos and nos run avgas and I know there is mention using avgas, but couldn't find that many. Can someone tell me if this is the same as say C10 race fuel or similar? Obviously it should be better than running 91 octane pump gas in which I believe is the highest octane rating we can by here in Canada at the pump. It's just that C10 is a little hard to find around here in the winter and I can probably get as much avgas as I want. Thanks.
Don - if you want to buy 5-10 gallons of C10 we have a new barrel in the trailer. Come by the shop Sat. if you're in town and we'll fill you up.

OK Jim, looks like I'll end up in the city again Saturday, I'll bring a jerry can and a six pack or something.

Not sure how much fuel we can fit in the 6 pack, but the 5 gallons of beer will come in handy!

Each to there own I have used AV gas all season with my turbo and it works perfect. It never gave me any problems on the 700 with nos either. If you guys feel better spending your dough on overpriced race fuel go ahead. You may just get a few extra HP out of it.
