Here are a set of Avid drivers after 6900 kms. They were in pretty good shape over all. The melted plastic that was actually plucking off the track clips from my slides. I'm putting on a new set of Avids and getting the track re clipped and studded.

How long is the studds you are using? And, is the tunnerprotectors going to be left in the radiator in front of the tunnel? Ive got a friend who is studding his XTX as we speak, and he is worried to hit the radiator with the studs... (He is using 1.325" studs)

Stud length.

That length stud is for the 1.25" track. He will have no problems. I have the 1.5" track with 1.75" studs and there is no proble. Tunnel protectors stay in to protect the tunnel. All sleds are made to put studs in without having any problems. You mey need to put tunnel protectors in on some makes. I know the XTX will take a 1.75" trach but then the studs over all length for a track that size is 2.25". Your over all lenght for the correct stud is 0.5" longer that your lug heigth. That way you get 0.25" penetration above the lugs so the studs can do thier job. If the studs don't protrude longer than the lugs they are only hurting your cause.
