Back Country cut down to 1.5"??

Here is the 136" 9073C Back Country cut to 1.34". I used a tire groover... it allowed me to quickly cut all lugs to same length.

I've been juggling between a cobra or a BC trimed to 1.3'' to run with studs. Looking at yours, it sure looks more agressive. Should compare to a cobra if not better. Did you lose any on top end?

Brian...do tell us more on the rear suspension...maybe start another thread with some nice pics.....expert X in a Nytro is interesting...I've only seen one other member with it...more info would be nice.....sorry for the brief hijack lol

I do almost no top end running... but if we happen to get out on one of the lakes and the conditions are good, I'll give it a squeeze. I would expect some loss.

I'll start a thread.

If you really want to cut down that much I can tell you the Artic Cat sno pro 1.395 has worked very well for me and all you need to do is install. It works very well in the deep stuff. My nephew has a stock nytro and I have a few mods including the track. It absolutely makes the sled a different animal compared to stock. They are relatively cheap as well. I think you can find them on ebay right now for about 440 shipped.

I will let you know, but I am also running non-stock drivers. That might make the difference. The only triming I would do is on the lugs that come in contact with the tunnel protectors.
I just ordered a 1.75 Backcountry yesterday, so I'll know in a week or so how well it fits, but I agree with you, I'd be trimming the track above the clips rather than removing the tunnel protectors

I have various reasons for going this route. The sno pro tracks are easy and cheap to find in 121" only, I converted to a 136" track. This track was a super cheap close out... Newer lug design and pattern.

...Rode this about 80 miles on groomed packed powder trails yesterday. It simply hooks up and is gone. My buds Apex with a 121" with 1.25" lug Predator couldn't touch it. I'm looking forward to tryng it on hard pack and a little off trail.

I have ran the cobra 136 in 2 sleds now, ripsaw in the same sleds and sno-pro in one of those sleds and a 1.75 challenger in one of those and the cobra is the most impresive track i have ever used, if you trail ride/free ride/boon dock i dont think you can get a better track to accomodate all 3,the hook up is crazy...it was 8 mph faster than a snow-pro also, the thin light wieght design is truely amazing, if you dont trail ride at all then maybe bc, but dont chop one just get a cobra....it works!
