2016 stx dx 146 , stock.
I have never had this problem before but 2 out of the last 4 times I stared the machine it backfired (small ) and started up. Once warm and once cold.
Sled now has 13700km . Put new plugs in at 13200km.
Any think I should check?

Got the newest flash? Heard of it happening with a bunch of sleds but haven't seen it with ours and the new flash yet. How cold was it?

Got the new flash last year and never had a problem. Only happen twice this year once at cold start up -10c and once when warm.Got the newest flash? Heard of it happening with a bunch of sleds but haven't seen it with ours and the new flash yet. How cold was it?
Have you changed the way you start it since last year? Even though I have the new flash I still keep it cranking for 3 count even if it happens to start right away. I never cycle the pump either. Might be something that will work for ya. Check over exhaust good too. Leaks can do a lot of damage to sled.Got the new flash last year and never had a problem. No never changed anything when it comes to starting. don't see anything wrong with muffler from looking but never checked header . Going to start it again and check gasket to see if it blew out and check muffler when going.Have you changed the way you start it since last year? started sled again this evening and never cycle the pump just on the key right away. Sled started right away not even a count of 1. Maybe the backfire was just a coincidence.( Hope so). Time well tell.
Check muffler and gasket and not problem there that I could see. Don't want to take the tank off to check header on less I got to. Hard to take tank off of mine because off all the plastic and other 16.3 liter tank in the back .
Never heard of a 16 cracking header or can so probably fine. Just something you surely want to keep eye on.started sled again this evening and never cycle the pump just on the key right away.
