2012 Nytro MTX 153
Hey everyone, new to the forum here and usually just absorb the knowledge and carry on but I'm in need of advice.

I'm 5' 7" 130lbs ( no gear ) and bought a bone stock leftover 2012 MTX 153 and I'm looking to give it some more control. I can toss a sled around and to be honest I've been more than impressed with the machine so far. Current shock setup is 60psi in the front, 85 in the front skid shock, and 70 in the rear. This is with the weight lifted. When I ride aggressive and don't need to be able to transfer weight in deep snow ( jumps, trails etc.. ) I bump the fronts to about 75, front skid shock to 100 and 90 in the rear.

I have not ridden it in anymore than 2 feet of snow so I can talk about deep snow yet ( early season, awaiting snow but would like a good setup if I'm going to have to trailer this year ) it lays over easy but seems very difficult to control. I will be doing the 37" a-arm kit next year but I'm watching my budget this season.

You probably should experiment riding it with the skid shocks set much closer to factory settings of 50 psi front and 150 psi rear and adjust them in 5 psi increments. 85 psi in the front skid shock is very high for your lower weight. The narrower and (as important) forward-shifted front a-arm kit provides the greatest change in handling, however.

As you have stock fox's, I assume you have an SE without a front sway bar? If you have a non-SE, I would pull the sway bar and drop the pressure of the front shocks. I am currently running 40psi without sway bar and it is a nice setup for back country riding. To help make the front a little lighter, I would also max out my weight transfer by fully unthreading the nuts on the transfer rod (back of the skid). This will make the sled trench a bit more, but help make the sled easier to throw around with the power on. FYI, I am about 90lb heavier than you with gear.

Not sure how much reading you have done but I would look into the following as musts: steering relocation kit, moutaintech skid plate, and rollover valve.
