I finished my 3rd year on my battery and would like to know if I should replace it before next season. I've routinely charged it throughout the off season the past three years and have not had any problems with it. Has anybody gotten 4 or more years on the same battery?

I have 2 '06 Vectors with original batteries, had them checked this year and everything was fine. I keep them on a Battery Tender whenever I'm not using them, really seems to make a difference. You can take it into any battery store or even most Auto Repair place's and they should be able to test it for you, usually no charge.

Still on my original Battery on an 06 RTX. I am thinking its about time. Until last summer, it was never hooked up to a charger.

As long as you routinely use a battery tender both in season and i the off season, that battery can last decades.
Look for an Optimate 3 or 4. They are both really good.

How do you know the battery will last for decades. Do you have a 1970 Apex?

Just keep in mind. When the battery dies your out of luck. I had mine die on my 2006 apex with 7000k on it. I got a boost but after onyl a couple of miniutes the machine stoped. Had to get a new battery before I could continue.

He most likely did some research and I agree with him a properly maintained Yuasa battery can and will last a very very long time. Keeping a battery tender on it when not in use is proper maintenance.
