I have a 2018 Sidewinder that is stock. It has always had a belt squeal after braking hard, which I assumed was the belt getting stuck down in the secondary when locking up the brakes.
I put 300 miles on it this weekend, and noticed that it chirps the belt often. Even coming out of corners that I coasted through without using the brakes.
What is going on here? The current belt is an 8jp with 900 miles on it. I inspected the belt yesterday and it looks great.

Belt deflection??
Like mentioned:
-clean clutches
-check belt deflection
-check clutch offset
-check primary rollers and weight bushings
-check your secondary rollers for flat spots
-try a new belt and set deflection
All part of clutch maintenance

Sounds like you need to wrap your secondary spring tighter,if its on 3*3 try 6*1I have a 2018 Sidewinder that is stock. It has always had a belt squeal after braking hard, which I assumed was the belt getting stuck down in the secondary when locking up the brakes.

Usually a belt squeal means it is too tight.

Mine did this twice to me as well. Its less of a squeal and more of a groan upon giving it light gas. Goes away instantly only comes back after a hard stop.

Need more wrap on the secondary clutch or a stiffer spring in the secondary.
