I noticed this past weekend my rpms just started shooting up to 9300 and the sleds response didn't feel as snapy. I took the belt off and could feel slight grooves in the primary at certain heights, plus there seamed to be a bit more belt dust than I expected. I refinished the clutch faces with 220 sand pape, air compressor and brake cleaner. I also went over the belt with an emry cloth and scrubed it under hot water. I'm unsure what else to do with the actual belt faces. What does a glazed surface feel/look like compare to just a normal used surface? I don't know if I really took off the glaze with the quick hit i did with the emery cloth.

220 grit? Pretty rough did you move to a fine paper after that?

I would suggest going for a good rip and checking if one of the clutches is much hotter then the other.

If you've run this kit for a while and it worked fine and you now have a problem I would check components for failure. Check springs, weight surfaces ect.

How old is the belt?

The belt isn't very old, and it measures 1.33" wide so right in tolerance.

I did not do any sanding after the 220. We just lost all our snow at home, should be getting a bunch though this weekend. I'll try to see if one clutch gets hotter after the new white gold falls.
