Rode the sled around the field for the first time this season today. Every thing seamed great until I stopped. The belt is squealing like crazy. I did put a new belt on this year. I notice a little corrosion at bottom of the clutch but didn’t think I would hurt.

Anything I should look for? I’m going to clean the clutch with some scotch bright and see what that does.

The old "new" belt squeal trick.. Hmmm.. Some times if you wash the new belt with dish soap before putting it on it helps.. Other belts need 50 miles of riding before they stop making noise.. Still others need washers put in until they wear down.. I would try the first two.. Some belts from the factory just are trouble makers.... They realllllllllllllly piss me off............ :die MM.

If its squeeling, the secondary sheaves are too tight. You'll need to adjust the sheave spacing by removing washers on the three bolts on the back of the secondary that control how wide the opening is before shifting occurs. The belt should be flush or up to an 1/8 in higher then the top of he secondary. If you check, I bet the belt is more like 1/4 in higher. That's your problem.
