Looks same but someone would have to cross-section one (especially down by center roller bearing on movable side) to find out for sure. Of course, we could NEVER get an answer from Cat whether anything has been changed (like making it thicker so it's safe to use it!!).

Actually I think it may have been updated in 2021!!!
The part # for a primary is the same from 2017 to 2020.(0746-889)
And 2021 is (0746-898).

Cat warrantied mine but is back ordered!!been waiting for a few months now!! Once I get it ill be able to compare with my original clutch

IF they updated it, WHAT are the updates? Did they increase thickness on movable down low? Did they update the way the movable travel is limited? Etc. I'd be VERY curious to know. Without elaborate methods and substantial cost, how could one analyze the new part number to find out? Cat would NEVER tell us because IF they were to say they have increased thickness of movable, then they open themselves up to accusations by lots of folks that the previous design was defective and unsafe due to cracking.
