Had an incident where I got a little high on the side of bank and came crashing down. All is ok but my handlebars got jacked up. I tried getting them bent back but believe I need new bars.
I was able to take everything apart and just removed the grips and warmers. The grips came off pretty easily with a heat gun and the warmers were not too bad either. The grips did leave a little more gunk on the bars but with the exception of a few small areas are still covered with the black tape residue.
Do you think I could get new automotive double sided tape and reuse the warmers? I am pretty certain I didn't muck up the metal or any wiring. Should I just rivet the grips back into place or use some tape/glue on them as well?

My buddy needs new bars too, what do you have planned for replacements?

I would check the resistance on the warmers before I put them back on. I am surprised vou were able to get the element off in one piece.

If the resistance is okay and they look fine there is no reason to throw out good grips, go ahead and re-use!

Whew...all went ok. New bars on and reused grips and warmers. Found 3m automotive double sided tape on the warmers then wrapped them tightly with electrical tape to keep in place while I twisted the grips back into place. I soaked the grips in hot soapy water and then sprayed them with hairspray before sliding on. Man, I'm going to have blisters tomorrow!
My warmers measured 7.5 ohms before and after the install. Final test was upon start up, they got hot before the engine reached the warm up level.
