Dano - just run a strip of nylon or anything around your rear bumber down to the bottom of your flap and attach it - that will keep your flap from going under the sled when reversing.

I am positive that I did not run over my snow flap. My track is not studded. I do experience execessive bottoming of the rear suspension. I am 130 pounds. The dealer has installed the big boy spring for my light weight body. I am the only rider of this sled so I know exactly what this sled has been through.

The silencer heat shield is bolted to the back of the silencer.
The silencer is bolted to the tunnel.
If you bottom the suspension out when sitting on the seat, part of the force from your body weight will go down through the seat, through the silencer heat shield, through the silencer to the very rear part of the tunnel. How much force is decided by your body weight and by how far back you are sitting when bottoming out. Enough force and the tunnel will bend downwards.
Both me and my mate bent our -05s only couple of seconds apart when we were caught by a deep hole right in the middle of an otherwise flat high-speed part of the trail. Also, we were non-studded and our snowflaps looked perfectly OK after this...

Also the weight of the silencer contributes to this "bending problem".
However, I believe the force from part of the body weight is the main reason (I am 100kg, the stock silencer is 8 kg...).
