I want to reduce darting and improve floatation and carve good. What is everybodys thoughts for the best ski. I like the looks of the Slydogs but would rather buy a set of skis that are well proven.........

Any body have any experience with CA Pro Advantage 6? The description of this ski says it has grooves in bottom and elimnates darting, any body confirm this? Any one use the new USI SPX ski or Slydog on the Apex?

Thats a tough one...
Without having two sets of carbides.. (simons or a set of woody dualies) you wont get rid of darting..
a good set of aftermarket skis will aid handling and help darting though
I would go with any C@A pro skis or slydog skis.

I really like my USI SPX's. Steering effort increased some but darting was eliminated. The are quite wide so I would think floatation would be good.
I have the C&A outlaws and love them, they greatly improved both inside ski lift and the darting.

I've run USI,SLP,Simmons, and Slydogs. They are all good skis. I have Slydogs on Attak and love the easy steering. The USI and Simmons were heavy steering to me. SLPs and Slydog much easier to steer. Depends on what your looking for. The wear bar you choose also makes a big difference. IMHO,Bergstom triple points are among the best. studdog

Zero darting. Toe-in set a 1/8 inch. That's right, 1/8 in toe-in recommended by Allen Ulmer. Running 6 inch Bergstrom triple points with ski savers. Didn't have to shim. 800 miles on skis and carbides no noticeable wear. Camoplast Ice ripper track. Having said all that, I've never seen a ski that will not track in some conditions. These Slydogs have been run in a wide variety of conditions and perform very well. I'd buy them again. Zero darting on hardpack or ice.

I have c@a outlaws with 7.5 stud boy shaper bars. I was using
stock skis with 8" single woodys which I found darted all over
the place and held the corners good but still had quite a bit
of ski lift. The c@a outlaws way out handle the stock skis with
little to none inside ski lift. These skis really make my GT rail.
The darting problem is gone and you also float better in powder
because of the width. The rubber blocks that come in the yamaha
c@a kit do have to be cut about a quarter inch in width to fit and
two small knoches in the base of the rubber blocks where the carbides
bolt on. Other then this they are great.

ttt,,any other slydog reports?????
Just got back from a trip to UP last weekend. I have a new GT. Let me primis this with the fact I have my sled set with no toe in or toe out. Started out with stocks ski's. 10 Minutes later I put on my Simmons (6" berstrom triples inside 4" Simmons sharp on outside). Ran a 100 mile loop with basic groomed trails with some ruts, chop, & some blown out corners. Turned around & put on a set of Barrowed Slydogs (6" Sharp). Ran the same 100 mile loop same day (working on break in). Comparisions - Because of alignment, both hunted slightly, but 10 times better than stock. Probably could have been adjusted out, but went to ride not wrench. Simmons felt much heavier steering than the Slydogs. Both ran well in trails & in tight corners. About the same when ventured off trail into deeper snow. Seat of pants says that the Simmons would slow you down more than the Slydogs. Problem is now I have to decide if I want to sell my Simmons & buy some Slydogs.
