What have you found to be the best setting for a long day of mountain riding? This would include a good portion of boondocking and hill climb combined and of course great powder conditions 2 to 3 ft. at least.
I run 10# 240 hp and 12# 260 hp on an 03 rx-1t 4000-6000 elev. I find it very controlable dependable and unstopable. No other sleds comes close in the area. It would take another Turbo or S/C. The only time I get stuck (rarley) is due to rider error or lack of ball size. :o|
I have been currious, as In watching video, seen a lot of guys with 300+ hp climbing and it seemed a little more unstable and difficult to controll. Can you controll it in the trees at that boost level? :exc:
I know there are boost adjusters but what due you ride at all day! I stay at 240 just to ride 260 for show! :-o

I like 7.5 for boondocking and 10-12 for climbing. I usually just keep it around 11ish which seems to work pretty well for all around riding. I can always go up a couple if needed.

260hp at 12# of boost.... is alll a dream...... have you dynoed it?

I leave my Apex on 17 psi all the time .Most climbing I do is at 1/2 to 3/4 throttle , if I give it full throttle it will actually accellerate uphill . :4STroke:

Too much fun !

Mulot30th: These number are from MC-X as they dyno during testing. Mine has not been dynoed but MC would have to be way off for this not to be close on my sled. No pipe dream here! The Apex is listed at 260 hp at 10# by MC-X.
So Tim since your 17# on the apex what hp should that be? 320? Tim how do you like the Apex MC? You've been on the other sleds how does it compare? My 03 I'am extremly happy with but may be time to do it again. Is the Apex a noticable difference or will modded out 03 be close?
Is that thing still managable in the trees at 17#?

It 's fine in the trees , but you have to learn to feather the throttle a little different. The mcx at 17 psi is supposed to be 310 hp. I love the mcx kit , totally trouble free so far at 300 + horsepower is too good to be true . (and I've got one of the 06 kits , the 07 kits are even better!)

If this is an Apex with a MCXpress turbo kit, 260 HP is made at 12 lbs and 10700 rpms. 312 HP is made at 17 lbs requiering new fuel mapping and fuel pump together with 10:1 pistons and head shim. This setup can be run on 93 octane pump gas (equels to 98 octane RON in Norway, Sweden, Finland). BTW happynewyear.
