Sorry to put this out again but I'm looking to buy a gps for not a crazy amount of money and was wondering what you guys think is the best one and easiest to mount on your sled. I ran some trails in northern Ontario and Quebec the last couple of days and didn't have one but luckily for good cell service and google maps we were OK. Trails were still closed some places.

Lots of info. in the Maps & GPS section on this.
Gps central.ca has a pretty good website with a good range of garmin and lowrance products.
One of garmin etrex series would probably be the cheapest you could go in a handheld, mapping unit, w/o color screen. I have one as a back-up to my colorado. On the plus side, its small, easy to use menus and low-priced with good reception. On the downside, the screen is small and its hard to use with gloves on.
If you want to use it while moving, as opposed to stopping and getting your bearings, buy the easy input method (ie. buttons) and biggest screen you can get.

I love my Garmin Dakota 20. I had/still have a Garmin Rhino and there were many places up here that I could not get satellite reception with the Rhino but the Dakota has found the satellites where ever I have been up here.

I have a colorado 400t, use it for all my hunting and snowmobiling trips, love it!!! The newer oregon are also very nice.

I've used a Nuvi 550 for the last couple of years and it works great. It's waterproof and is big enough to see even while riding. I mount mine with a RAM mount.

I just noticed today that on gpscentral.ca that they cost only $200, half the price of what I paid.

I have used a lorance H2o for the past 4 years and love it. Good maps and easy to use. I use a ram mount and its rock solid. The only thing I don't like is its hard to see without the light on. With the light on it uses batteries pretty quickly but with a 12v cord it works great.

Ontario has a new map for the trails on the OFSC site. It has turn by turn directions and looks good. Dont have it myself through.

I use an Etrek Legend hcx, works great in all conditions.

The Garmin NUVI 500 with a ram mount is very easy if you dont mind a smaller screen. Cabelas had them on sale for 179.00 last week. I now have a Garmin MAP 640 and the bigger screen is awesome, drawback is it was pricey.
