I know there are several threads on here about cutting down tracks or lugs. I have an 09' MTX track and want to use the sled for cross over. I have two tracks, both need some modification... The stock 144x14x2" maverick. And, I also have a 144x15x1.25 Rip Saw off my Nytro XTX.
Am I better off cutting down the 15" track to 14 1/4" or cutting down the 2" lugs on the 14" track?
Thanks!

I don't know which would work better for you but I bet it would be a lot easier to cut down the lugs instead of width. I just cut down a 153 track from 15" to 14-1/2" and it was a pain!

I cut down the stock Maverick to 1.5" on my 09' It made a noticeable difference in acceleration on hard pack as it bit better BUT the lugs still folded while braking causing excessive stopping distance. I have my skid out right now waiting for some idler bushings and I have a brand new 144x14x1.5" freeride crossover track waiting to be installed. I rode a 121 phazer with that stsyle track and it was awesome both on and off trail so I'm hoping my MTX does just as well with the 144" version.
