I am considering a track swap on my 06' Attak. I have the Powderhound skis which work awesome in the powder. I was blasting through 3 and 4ft deep valleys this weekend and just had the time of my life.... It was seriously the most fun i have ever had on a sled. I could not ride powder at all with the stock skis so this year it was nice having the powderhounds...

The fun was extreme all the way up until me and my buddy on his 1000 gade had our rear ends handed to us by a pair of 600 summits.... I was amazed at what they did to us with those paddle tracks.....

I need to stay trailable and will still want studs but i need something with more powder ability than the ripcrap.... In my opinion it is simply a subpar track for a crossover machine... I understand the attak is not a powder sled but as long as i can ride it i will and I want to perform the best that i can......

What are you running and why is it the best or not that good? All help is appreciated.....

;)!

i have the track from 03 renegade,44 mm luggs, it works fantastic also have the r5 clutch kit from fix powersports and 23/40 gearing in the chaincase,it simply rocks, and in the powder it have never been so fun, and we have alot of powder right now, i will newer look back on the ripsaw as a alround track rfor the attak

track swap/

first thing i did when i got my attak. installed doo internal drivers and 1 1/4 predator track and c&a razors. works great in the snow.

If you go 1.5 or larger you will need to take out the tunnel gaurds which probably means no studs :ORC
For the record, I stepped down to a Rage (from an Attak) that has a 1.5 paddle and am amazed the snow I can go thru. I had a blast this past weekend ditch riding around my home and surrounding Mid Michigan ;)!

removed tunnel protectors , put on external drivers,
run track really loose also got 850kms , not alot of room under the tunnel got no rubbing.

I installed an 1.5 Ripsaw on my apex which has a 136. I am not running studs and the tunnel protectors do not need to be removed for an 1.5. It still hooks up great on trail and is worlds better in the powder than the 1.25 was IMO. I am sure there are other 1.5's that would be better still in the powder than the ripsaw but I wanted a great all around track.

06RTXTASY, with the 1.5 ripsaw you can probably leave the guards in. But I doubt it if he installed a true paddle.
