I have a 2003 RX1 front mount with a 121 inch track. Being new to Yamaha i was shocked at how overbuilt and heavy the rear skid was. I was thinking of swapping it for a cat or Doo skid. What is the prefference? I am going to keep 121 for now.
Looking for lighter better aproach angle and some transfer...it just a play sled!!

My Attak is supercharged also.
I don't know much about Cat or Doo skids, but I'm sticking with my Expert X. Very sturdy skid and will handle the torque and hp no problem. The angle is much, much better than the Yamaha stock angle and transfers like crazy.

Cat skid here... Awesome transfer even in loose snow. 17lbs lighter than my 136 Proaction. I can actually ride it through the moguls without killing my back at the end of the day. WAY better approach angle. Nothing but positive. I pounded it harder last year than I ever have and it never missed a beat. :jump:

I have a 136 SC-10 with 9 inch wheels available but wanted to keep the 121 for a little stealthier look.
want to be able to pull up and be able to race people....if its too trick people dont want to run.

I had to use my die grinder to remove about 3/32" off each end of the front cross shaft until I got a nice tight fit. No big deal... For $400.00 I couldn't go wrong. I didn't even have to revalve the shocks or install heavier springs. It was already set up for the weight of a T-cat.

I have the polaris edge skid, IMO its probabaly the best OEM skid for durability, and ride quality. It does everything better then the proaction. Its 5lbs lighter then the proaction as well.

I'll be selling it though because I got suckered into the AD Bolvin ZX2 composite skid.
