All right guys I need some help!!! we just finished up a 162 viper with the skid put in the bottom holes in the tunnel. The track had very little adjustment and has a small shake to it. Last night we moved the front arm into the top hole and left the rear arm in the bottom hole. Will this affect the geometry and handling of the skid?

So my question is were is everyone putting the skid bolts? And has any one put a 141x2.5.15 track in yet! That is the one I am really concerned about, can I run the skid in the bottom holes or should I go back to the stock top holes.

Thank you for the help!
Colin

I am getting ready to put a 153 in mine and what I have read says go to the bottom hole for clearance although I have yet to check that myself.

I think for my 141 I am going to use the bottom hole on the front and rear arms.
The 162 with the front arm in the upper hole seems to have a lot of clearance, my bigger concern is how the skid will react, thinking the change in geometry will cause the rear shock to collapse?

did you find any vibration in your feet? How much room do you have between your rail tails and the track?
Or have you run the suspension In the bottom hole in the rear drop bracket?

I have my TS 162 skid with CE 2.5" mounted in stock holes. There is enough clearance for that and seems to work fine.
I find this chassis has vibration as with the Cat 800 I used last year.

The lower front and middle rear is 2014 position for the Proclimb. It moves the rails back for an improved track approach angle, which helps the sled get up on top of the snow better (less trenching).
When moving it to the lower holes, you'll also want to pull up the limiter straps also. This puts less pressure on the rail tips to help reduce vibration and also improves the approach angle as well.
When Cat moved the skid back to the "2014 position" holes, the 2014 Proclimbs are equipped with sligthly shorter rails. This helps restore the full range of track adjustment.
I used 2013 rails on mine and while I'm able to achieve proper track tension adjustment, it was a PIA to get the skid to line up with the lower holes!
If I was to do another one, I would get 2014 rails as it would make the job easier.
I did have mine in the upper holes at first, but moved it to the Proclimb holes because I was concerned about the possibility of the 2.6" track slapping on the exhaust header under decelleration. Also I wanted the improved approach angle that the lower holes provide.
I also found that I needed to back the front skid shock spring pre-load WAY off when going with the lower holes/shorter limiter straps.
