Yes you have to add another washer to each bolt to run the 8dn.

I have the Gates 8dn equivalent and I added the washers that came with it. But had too much belt squeel. I took the original ones out and its perfect now. Also have the 911 cover.Yes you have to add another washer to each bolt to run the 8dn.

he was stating that there were washers already on the back of secondary on the bolts. Those are factory and I said to,add another washer. That's what worked for me not sure what washers come with what the Vennom kit? Just trying to clarify what I thought he was asking.I have the Gates 8dn equivalent and I added the washers that came with it. But had too much belt squeel. I took the original ones out and its perfect now. Also have the 911 cover.

Sorry. I bought 3 more washers from the dealer because I wanted to start using the 8dn belt. When I took the secondary off to put these new washers on. I realized that there was already washers on from factory. I just wanted to know if I added these new washers that I bought to the existing ones that were already on there from factory. Or do I just run with the ones on there from factory

Yes, you need to add the 3 washers to the existing stock washers. Your bolt should have a total of 2 washers each bolt, 1 hardware washer and a stock Yamaha one. A good tip is to install the washers from the hardware store on the bolt first, then the stock washer. This will ensure you don't have any issues with the washers not seating correctly.

That's exactly what I did. Give that a try and see how the belt is riding.

It kind of works in reverse of what you would think, In this case the more washers you add ,the more the secondary closes and the drive belt rides higher in the sheaves of the clutch. If the belt sequels after you shim it remove the thinnest shim reassemble and try again until you get the desired result.

Or buy a Osp belt adjuster. I completely removed the bolts and washers and run the osp adjuster now. Very simple to use and adjust as needed.
