You have to be careful about the clearance between the wheels and the bottom of the transfer rods. When the rods come to the bottom there is a possibility of them hitting the inside edge of the wheels. I know because this happened to mine. I used the Mtn. Perf. Billet wheels. The Tracks USA wheels are plastic and rubber and a little narrower and perhaps a better option. At any rate if you stud get wheels with rubber on their outer edge. A couple of the billet wheeks do come this way.

RX-1Jim, here is what I am doing to this sled during the off- season. First it's going to Freddies for his stage 2 hop up kit for the motor, then I will chrome out the rear skid and add those flamed billet 10" wheels to the rear skid, and for the finale I might change the color to a 2004 Pontiac color called fusion orange metallic and use a house of color candy orange for the flames. Here's is my attempt at an artists rendering of what it might look like.---- Cubby

Cubby,
Very nice sled! Are you sure the wheels you ordered are 10"? I looked on teh hotsleds website and only found 8" wheels listed. You need to get another piece of blue carpet to store your sled on.....storing it on bare concrete is just not right for something so pretty. Did you polish the stock exhaust tips or are these new, aftermarket parts? Nice job, only a Yamaha could look this nice, the fit and finish on the other sleds is so poor no matter how much you do they still look cheap!

Umm yep Jim those are the stock exhaust tips just polished. and thanks for the complements. Yea I called them to order them and talked to a big wig there (forgot his name) but he was very reassuring that the wheels and offset axle kit will work great on my sled and said his wheels are guaranteed for life. I was conserned because someone here said they broke a billet wheel. And they are about 9.3 inches and not quite 10". ----Cubby

Ummmmm DUH, I reported earlier that I was getting 10" wheels but I was way wrong. I dont know why 10" stuck in my head. Again what the heck do I know about sleds, I'm a lowrider for god's sake. I called Performance engineering back today and yes RX-1Jim The flamed wheels are in fact 8" wheels for the rear and 5 and 3/8 for the bogeys. Sorry if this has caused any confusion.----- Cubby
