that looks exactly like my shock when it split last year. Warranty covered it. This was an issue on many 09 xtx's. If I were you I would talk to the dealer and see what he could do. Did you have the three year warranty ( if you snochecked it in the spring) it may still be covered

I had the 3 year warranty, but that's over now.

Cool, so that rear/rear shock is adjustable for compression and dampening?
