I just ordered a used 17 sidewinder shock and all hardware I need on ebay express shipped should be here by Thursday. I ride it hard, must have been the 10mile bumped up straight away on the way back to camp last weekend. Never seen a shock ripped apart like that tho.
Studroes stocker ripped apart just like that. Its possible the cap unscrewed. I know if I did it it was tight but they dont use a bleed in piston anymore so you have to do it from top. That means Loctite wont do a thing on the cap since oil needs to flow by . Also check your limiter straps. If in last hole you may need to go to the second since the straps stretch.

You did the shock rebuild for me but it has about 6000 miles on it since. Was hoping to make it through this season and send them back to you for a refresh.
It's possible straps stretched, I'll check it when I install new shock. Is the sidewinder shock better? How's the valving?

Valving was much better on 16+ Vipers and Sidewinders. Is the piston anywhere to be found! You did the shock rebuild for me but it has about 6000 miles on it since. Was hoping to make it through this season and send them back to you for a refresh.
