I have talked to a shop who has been running an external controller on their boosted APEX with MCX. I know MPI runs their own and Bender too. They are programmed for their turbos/chargers (so they say) and Boondocker has one for their turbo and one for the APEX, no boost. Talking to them has convinced me they don't really have a success or failure experience to tell me yet. I know you can control the ECU through the speedo panel, just picked up a manual. But I would like something easier and quicker. Has anyone added an external controller to their boosted APEX with success? If so, which one and was it programmed for a turbo or stock? Thanks.

TFI for sure. Boss, MPI and probably Bender too are all using the Dobeck box with their name on it.

Big-zig runs a boondockers says it works good with the mcx set-up. He takes away a bit of fuel at 3,000rpm and adds some at 8,000.

Why not just have mcx computer programed right and save the 400 bucks. Mine finally runs great except could use a little more fuel at 7800 rpm.

Because I have sent it back twice. It is only good at
2-7000 ft. They can't seem to get it to run good above that. I ride from 3500-10000 and want to be able to adjust it.

Big Bull - I'm not sure if yoursled is boosted or not...
If not, and your loking for a fuel controller, Hauck Powersports has one out. There's looks the same as the MPI and the one used on many quad applications. I think Dobeck Ind. makes it. There controler may work with boosted sleds as well, but you would have to inquire with them.
