I have been asking around about a fuel and or ingition controller and I keep hearing different things. I have a Gems now but I'm don't like the way and measures boost from infront of the throttle bodies.
I have an RB3 from my old nytro that I might be able to sell for an Apex RB3, but I heard alot of people dont like them. I'm also having a hard time finding a base map for low elevation. Its seems everyone who uses one is at 4000 feet and up. If anyone is looking for an Nytro RB3 I have one I'd like to get rid of cheap.
Someone mentioned trying a Boondocker controller and that they work well. So I was reading up on them and they do not control ignition like the RB3.
If you have used one of these systems please post your 2 cents

I gave you my 3 cents at the show LOL With a supercharger you dont need timing control and if you do and use to much you will be playing with fire unless you use some race fuel.

I was not thinking of adding timing. I've always pulled timing under boost to prevent detonation. I checked my pulleys today and I have 26 on the bottom and 22 on top.

You are maxing your blower out with those pulleys but as long as you have good fuel you wont need to pull timing and if you do it will kill your power big time even 2 degrees will slow it down considerably, been there done that.

Motec M400 is your solution; contact Martin Filfe in Quebec (Precision Sports 1-450-821-9656).

This will replace the OEM ECU and will give you the opportunity of play well with timing curve...............it's a standalone with datalogging ...........forgot about the GEMS and the BOONDOCKER.......these are DOBBECK style and will burned your OEM wires !!!

Your RB3 will work if you want to try it you just need a different harness. I think they are around $80.00

My 2 cents is that the GEMS is stupid easy to use and its not 100% but its so close why mess with it???

If you dont have a BOV then get one otherwise I think your asking for more headaches and less riding with anything else.

We have no problems with the RB3 in our custom sled, have been working well for the past 3 seasons.

Whatever you chose I would strongly suggest that you get a Data Logging Unit. No matter what map you get from me or anybody else; you will not know if it's a good map without the ability to verify your engine stats using a Datalogger.

I swapped my Nytro rb3 for an apex unit.
I'm going to give it a try. Plus iit did not cost me anything to trade.

RB3 on Apex

I am in the same boat getting ride of the RB3 on my nytro and getting the boost it system but would like to put the RB3 on the Apex i have a harness but wondering where to get a good map. I have heard that they are difficult to tune but the GEMS is just a pain in the #*$&@ climb 1000 ft have to re adjust plus the apex is awesome out of the hole but once you get into the higher rpm it falls on its face. Not sure if the RB3 will be any better but would like to give it a try just need a decent map to start with
