ok anyone installed the yamaha boondock running board supports? i lay them on the tunnel and there is a couple rivites in the way of letting the support being flush with the tunnel, do i dare remove these rivits? and also the running boards themselves they will not sit flat on the running boards do i drill those out also? anyone have exsperience with this? directions say nothing about this

I drilled out the 2 overlapping rivets on each side and put the new ones in the same hole. Doing mine w/ a manual rivet gun and do my hands ache. The rivets are super stiff.

Old thread but I did the same; there were two rivets one one each side of the tunnel that lined up with the new brace hole towards the back of the sled. Drilled them out and installed new rivets they made a great guide to make sure both braces were the same location on each side. Rivet the sides first then clamp the foot well down and rivet through the layers I believe I used 16 per side. If new braces do not lie completely flat hit with a rubber hammer and they will form to the sled. Overall they really stiffened up the tunnel.
