Could some one tell me how to hook up my boost gauge. Its goin on a 04 rx1 with a stage 1 mpi supercharger the gauge is the manual auto meter. Was trying to find some info on here on how to do it but no luck.

Thanx

The easiest place is the nipples after the carbs. There is 4 of them in total. Doesnt matter which 1 you pick, typical there all hooked together with a boosted sled. Also this spot will show the most accurate boost as there is pressure drops across intercoolers, carbs, throttle bodies, etc.

Just a reminder. If the gauge is only boost and not vacuum also, some guys have reported killing the gauge after a while of pulling vacuum at the carb boots.

tylerdirty what RED says but T all 4 nipples together, you will get a more correct and stable signal that way. What BigDog05 says, your gauge needs to able to read vacuum or else....dead gauge.

BTW - please add your location to your user profile, it's a site requirement.

There is a nipple on each carb boot. Between carb and engine. T all 4 together. If you are running a BOV you would have it running off these nipples.

yes sir that's correct

so what if u have a bov hooked to the carb nipples that how to do hook up the boost gauge to them?

I have 3 tees now that all hook together and go into one boost line. Can u just tee off the last tee and run one line to the boost gauge and the other to a bov? How many lines go to a BOV? I do not have one yet. I am just trying to figure out how it works..thxs

You'll get a smoother vacuum reading if you T all four nipples together and then take the the boost gauge signal from between the #2,3 carbs. BOV can be plumbed to any part of the vacuum 'manifold'.

Somewhat unrelated, but who has the best BOOST gauge had a autometer and seemed to work great. But didn't survive the roll(s) over......who make a great gauge that works in all temps???

Aem digital for the boost gauge, and I prefer to use the t/b nipples for the bov only so that there is enough vacuum to pull the piston back (in the bov)and enough spring tension so that boost is not lost under throttle. There's a fine line on bov adjustment, well at least the vortech bov.

I run a FJO run boost, best gauge I have ran, even tells you Highest boost seen that run when you let off the throttle.
